About the Artist
My Journey in Visual Effects started at CG Masters Academy. I signed up as a student here after completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simon Fraser University. Wanting to expand on my skills and find a place in the entertainment industry, I completed my Diploma with strengths in Modeling, Compositing, Lighting and Production Coordination.
My first job was as a junior compositor on Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart" with GVFX. As the only artist on the team for quite a while, I head to learn quickly and push the boundaries on my skills. I acted as coordinator of VFX, I was given experience on set and quickly began to lead a team of artists by the end of the season.
From here I moved on to Side Street Post. Taking on the roll of CG Generalist, my duties consisted of 3D modeling and animation, Compositing, Pipeline development and being On Set Supervisor for multiple shows.
Next I went to Atomic Cartoons to work on "Beat Bugs". Here I was a lighting artist and compositor. I learned to use Deep compositing, as well as expanding of knowledge of working on 3D / 2D pipelines.
Once completing my time at Atomic, I went back to GVFX to work on Van Helsing as a 3D artist and compositor. I spent lots of time learning how to do budgets, scheduling and organizing. Trolling our database to make sure all information was kept up to date. This led to my current position at GVFX on Van Helsing season 2. Now I am in charge of running the department. Making sure we deliver the show on budget. Attending meetings, tech surveys and spotting sessions. Keeping our communication channels flowing between departments and clients. I set schedules for my supervisor to go on set, schedules for the artists so they are aware of delivery times. I deliver budgets to the producers and work directly with accounting to complete purchase orders, time sheets and petty cash expenditures.
I am an extremely organized individual, a quick learner and strong communicator.
